The Freeport Planning Board will hold a workshop with the Town Attorney to discuss LD 2003 in Freeport.
LD 2003 is “An Act To Implement the Recommendations of the Commission To Increase Housing Opportunities in Maine by Studying Zoning and Land Use Restrictions.” The law, which was passed in 2022, expands the ability to build multi-unit properties in certain residential zones by loosening zoning restrictions in an effort to increase affordable housing units statewide. LD 2003 land use requirements take effect July 1, 2023.
