Active Living Committee

The Active Living Task Force was formed at the request of the Freeport Town Council in 2012. Its initial charge was:

“To assess Freeport’s existing walking, biking and hiking infrastructure and develop an active living plan that supports the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and considers resource constraints.”.

This charge was completed in July 2014 when the Town Council accepted the Active Living Plan (viewable at right).

At the October 21, 2014 Town Council meeting the charge of the Active Living Task Force was amended so that it could continue with efforts in public outreach and active living initiatives through, June 30, 2015. The Task Force was subsequently transformed into a Committee.  The Committee sunset in June of 2021.
