The Town of Freeport Board of Appeals reviews Administrative, Variance, and Miscellaneous appeals related to zoning and land use decisions.
Individuals who disagree with decisions made by the Codes Enforcement Officer can appeal to the Board within 30 days of the decision.
The Board of Appeals meets at 7 PM on the first Monday of every month in the Council Chambers at 30 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032. For more information or to file an appeal, you can contact Nick Adams, the Codes Enforcement Officer, at 207-865-4743 Ext. 102.
The Board's responsibilities and procedures are outlined in the Freeport Zoning Ordinance. This ordinance details the Board's authority to hear appeals, the types of decisions that can be appealed, and the process for filing an appeal. It also specifies the criteria the Board uses to evaluate appeals and the possible outcomes of the appeal process.
