The Town of Freeport is seeking residents interested in serving on a Town board or committee. Vacancies arise throughout the year and a reserve list of candidates is maintained to fill future vacancies.

Conservation Commission
This Commission serves the Town under the guidance of Ordinance # 35. It is involved in the acquisition and maintenance of property in town for the public benefit.

Hunter Road Fields Advisory Committee
The Hunter Road Fields Advisory Committee is charged with developing a purpose statement for the Hunter Road Fields and Trails that contains intended purposes including, but not limited, to accessibility by all residents, fulfills longstanding need for fields within community, provides opportunities for outdoor activities for people of all ages and abilities, groups and individuals, organized and informal activities.

Library Board of Trustees
The Freeport Community Library is a municipal department of the Town of Freeport. The Board of Trustees assists the Library Director in an advisory capacity. They serve as advocates for the library to the Town Council and represent the views of the community at large. The board meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6pm, September through June.

Paper Streets / Discontinuance
The roads which were on subdivision plans recorded prior to 1988, including range roads, and which have not been used or accepted by the Town as public ways are sometimes referred to as "paper streets."
