Permit Application Checklists

To accelerate permit processing time, please submit everything listed on the checklist.

Residential Building Permit

If applicable to the project, all of the following information is required and must be submitted for all residential building permit applications.
  • Copy of a Driveway Entrance Permit for any new driveway on a Town or State Road.
  • Cross sections of framing details (see cross sections sheet), including but not limited to, foundation, floor, wall, stairs, ceiling, and roof sections per 2015 IRC.
  • Deck/porch construction: including proposed sono-tube/pier location, framing, fastening, guards, handrails, and stairs per 2015 IRC.
  • Floor plans end elevations of all existing and proposed construction.
  • Name of Certified Technician for Blower Door and Duct Testing, per 2021 IECC.
  • Proposed Air Sealing and Insulation R-factors of conditioned spaces, per 2021 IECC.
  • Proposed Ventilation per 2015 IRC and/or 2016 ASHRAE 62.2.
  • Radon System Components per E-1465-2008, (Standard Practice for Radon Control Options for the Design and Construction of New Low-Rise Residential Buildings).
  • Right, Title, or interest for proposed application (Deed, letter of Authorization, etc.).
  • Scaled plot plan with all lot lines and existing and proposed changes.
  • Three (3) copies of a Subsurface Wastewater Disposal System Application for any projects increasing the number of bedrooms or design flow within the structure.
  • Window and door schedule with U-factors per 2021 IECC.
