CANNABIS LICENSING:

COMMERCIAL PASSENGER BOATS
- Application for licenses under this ordinance must be received in the office of the Town Clerk on a regular town office business day during the following periods of each year: (a) December 1 through December 7 for applications from Freeport Applicants; and (b) December 8 through December 15 for applications from Non-resident Applicants.

DOGS:
- Dogs six months and older are required to be licensed. It’s the law.
- Online dog registration is available from October 15th to January 31st of each year. You may do this through the State Website.
- New dog licenses can also be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours. Please bring proof of the rabies vaccination and spay/neutering. The cost at town hall is $6 and $11, respectively. All dog licenses expire December 31st of each year. You may renew your dog license anytime between October 15th and January 31st. You must renew your dog license no later than January 31st of each year, or a late fee will be charged. The Town Clerk is not authorized to waive the late fee, as it is a State imposed fee.
- Rabies clinics are also held several times a year at Coastal Humane Society, Tractor Supply and Petco in Brunswick. For dates and more information for Coastal Humane Society, call them at 725-5051 or visit them at their website.

SHORT TERM RENTALS:
- On April 27, 2021 the Freeport Town Council adopted an ordinance regulating the short-term rental of residential properties. The ordinance application form can be accessed below. The application and self inspection checklist will be available below by the week beginning May 3, 2021. The fee is $100 per application. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Freeport.
