Volunteers wanted to serve on the Social & Racial Equity Assessment Ad Hoc Committee

The Freeport Town Council is seeking to compose a diverse committee of community representatives (ad hoc) to establish an updated equity and inclusion value statement for the Town of Freeport and to review personnel and HR policies.  The committee will be tasked with assessing town policies, procedures, and practices to consider whether town processes may be contributing to racial inequities and also to identify areas of opportunity to support racial equity and inclusion.   This is a proactive effort to achieve a diverse perspective and gather input from a diverse cross-section of the community and assure all residents of Freeport that discrimination or bias based on race or social status is not tolerated anywhere in the Town government..

The Appointments Committee is seeking residents interested in serving on this Committee.  Applications will be reviewed by the Appointments Committee and their recommendations will be forwarded to the full Town Council for approval.
