Buildings Grounds Custodian
The Town of Freeport is seeking applicants for a Building Maintenance Custodian to join our crew who is responsible for the upkeep and safety of all municipal buildings. This position will be responsible for completing a full range of custodial and light maintenance activities. Indoor duties include but are not limited to mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, setting up and taking down tables and chairs for meetings, and general cleaning activities of municipal buildings. Outdoor duties may include mowing, raking, weed whacking, trash pick-up, landscaping, painting, snow removal and other outdoor maintenance activities. Successful applicant must be able to perform heavy physical labor for extended hours in all weather conditions. Must possess a current Maine driver’s license in order to travel to different municipal buildings as the position requires.

Custodial experience highly preferred especially commercial or municipal custodial experience. Application can be found at the link on the right.

PARKING ENFORCEMENT
The Freeport Police Department is seeking personnel for parking enforcement. The job requires walking, an ability to work with the public, and working in all types of weather. Parking enforcement personnel work from 10 am to 5 pm seven days a week, dividing the work days between two or three people. They enforce parking in the downtown village area of Freeport. Transfer Station Attendant- backup position
The Town of Freeport has an opening for a back-up Transfer Station Attendant. Job involves assisting the public with their trash/recyclable material and sorting this material. Manual labor, frequent lifting and bending are all part of the job. No experience is necessary. Skid steer/forklift experience and computer experience a plus. Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Maine Drivers License. High School diploma or equivalent required.
This position is not benefit eligible. Pay is $12 per hour.
Ideal candidate will:
• Want to work in a fast paced, team environment
• Be able to work outdoors in all types of weather (20% inside/80% outside)
• Have interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
• Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for an 8 hour shift
• Have a positive attitude
