AGENDA

1. Develop 2018 Active Living Committee – Workplan

IDEAS:
• Mallet Dr.
o Identify the full corridor and break off projects into parts
o Explore feasibility of conducting a study (or studies) of the full corridor and/or the separate parts using in-kind support from professional experts who live here
o Investigate potential study funding sources
• Safe routes to school (including Mallet Dr.)
• Identify and sign 5k-10k routes in Freeport.
o Publicize through FEDC, Freeport USA and the town website.
• Cousins River Bridge. Continued advocacy with MDOT and if the multiuse path happens the connections will need to be worked out.
• East Coast Greenway (ECG). Work with Molly Henry and Sue Ellen Boardwell from ECG to identify a future route change(s) that brings the ECG through downtown Freeport.
• Create a connection and explore common purposes with the Cultural Committee.
• Complete Open Space Guide
• Pilot project for non-paved road shoulder improvements (Rte. 125, Elmwood, Mast Landing Rd.)
• Create a town-wide map that allows us to visually show current projects as well as high priority areas of need. Visually portray what the desired future state would look like for a given corridor. Use GIS mapping or other solution.
• Off-road project from S. Freeport Rd./Rte. 1 intersection.
• Explore development of a Complete Streets policy
• Consider bike/walk friendly community designation
• Partner with Sally Walsh and the Accessibility Task Force related to Safe Routes to School
• Conduct a crosswalk study with a specific study focus area
