In May 2011, The Town published a Request for Proposal (RFP) for WAN Connectivity, Internet Access, and VOIP Services (See documents at right). Since then the process has been temporarily suspended:
Updates on the RFP Process:
(6/1/2011) - The Town of Freeport needs to delay (and possibly amend) the connectivity and phone RFP that was due on June 8th. The new deadline will be in approximately September, 2011. Changes will be posted here and on our cable TV station in Freeport.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause bidders; we will still be bidding out internet and phone services, but have found that some of the potential bidders’ questions need further investigation and want to have a thorough process.
In order to ensure a transparent process, please do not submit bids on June 8th; we will not open them. We will release a new bidding schedule and adhere to it later in the summer. Please direct any questions regarding this change to Abbe Yacoben.
